About Trump International Golf Links New Course
Every inch of the New Course at Trump International Scotland is a celebration of Scotland’s dramatic coastal dunes and links heritage. Designed under the oversight of Eric Trump and Sarah Malone, with foundational input from Dr. Martin Hawtree and contributions from Christian Lundin and Christine Fraser, this is not just a golf course, it’s a masterpiece in landscape, strategy and sweep.
A Brief History
- One of Scotland's newest courses, opening to the public in July 2025
- Sustainability and environment were front of mind for the design of this course, as the course was built with meticulous respect for the topography, almost every material - stone, sand, soil - was sourced on site
- Forms one half of what is being celebrated as 'The Greatest 36 Holes in Golf', along with its sister course, the Trump International Old Course
Featured hole – Hole 8
One of the defining moments of the New Course is the “Southern Dome”, aka the eighth hole; a towering dune that dominates the landscape. From its elevated tees, golfers are treated to panoramic views of the North Sea and the sweeping Aberdeenshire coast. The hole itself plays with exposure and nuance: precision is required off the tee, while boldness is rewarded for those who dare to shape their shots against the wind.
Known For: A Modern Take on Classic Scottish Links
The New Course is already acclaimed as a masterpiece of contemporary links design and is attracting major events and setting its sights on a storied tournament future.. Its vast fairways, deep bunkering, and infinity greens were designed to test the world’s best. The seamlessly blending of natural dunes, wetlands and native marram grasses proves that showcases sustainability and authenticity. And, with the North Sea ever-present, each hole feels like an amphitheatre where land, sky and sea converge.
