Falconry and Clay Pigeon Shooting
Gleneagles is a resort that offers many outdoor pursuits, but some of our favourites to enjoy are falconry and clay pigeon shooting.
The Gleneagles Falconry School is one of the best falconry schools in Scotland making it the ideal the place to learn all about these magnificent birds of prey. Experiences can be enjoyed as part of a group or on an individual bases to suit novices and experienced handlers alike.
For beginners, we recommend taking the 'Introduction to Falconry' course, where you will learn the basic skills and techniques of handling and flying Harris hawks. Equipped with a sporting jacket, boots, and a falconer’s glove you are sure to look the part as you enjoy time with these magnificent birds of prey. Please note that this activity is only suitable for ages 5 and up.
If you are looking to take your skills to the next level, then we can arrange a Hawking session, where you fly Harris hawks at rabbits and game birds in season on local sporting estates.
At Gleneagles Shooting School, you are guaranteed an exciting, true-to-life clay pigeon shooting experience, that can be enjoyed by both beginners and experienced shooters. The highly experienced instructors are some of the best in Scotland and will help you to develop your skills, whether it is the first time you have picked up a gun or you’re a seasoned campaigner. This experience includes shotgun hire, cartridges and clays, safety glasses and hearing protection. Please note that this experience is only suitable for ages 10 and up.
