Royal Dublin Golf Club
After the courses destruction during the First World War, the links were designed by H.S.Colt, the world famous golf architect from Sunningdale. In the early 2000s, Martin Hawtree, the specialist links architect, was engaged by the Club to bring the course up to the standard demanded by the modern game, while respecting the legacy of Colt. Hawtree’s work, completed in 2006, resulted in a 7,269-yard, par-72 links of outstanding quality.
The Golf Club is a perfect sandy island, superb terrain for a golf course and an excellent home for flora and fauna. Bull Island is the only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in a capital city. The course is fairly flat and narrow with long stretches of out of bounds, calling for accurate drives, and the wind tends to swirl around Dublin Bay, generally making the back nine tougher. This links course is highly rated by the prosA Brief History

Featured Hole – 18th
The often-drivable par-4 16th is guarded by seven pot bunkers. Players do well on the 17th to avoid bunkers on their drives and their approach shots to a green with a narrow entrance. The Royal Dublin's signature hole, the 18th, completes the round.
