The Experience Golf Team

There are few places in sport where history feels quite as alive as it does in St Andrews. Every fairway, every stone bridge, every gust of wind from the brisk North Sea has carried the story of a game that has shaped generations. For decades, golfers from around the world have travelled to the Home of Golf to experience something truly special; not just the courses themselves, but the feeling of walking where legends once walked and playing the course where the game we know and love began.

Now, in 2027, a new story begins with us!

We’re proud to introduce a brand-new offering to The Experience Golf’s season for 2027: The 1867 Club. This trip offers something genuinely rare: the opportunity for 16 women to take centre stage on the most iconic courses in St Andrews, via an exclusive, women’s only golf experience.

The 1867 Club is, whilst inspired by heritage, is designed also for the modern game, and is a quiet nod to an important moment in golfing history. In 1867, women first began formally playing golf in St Andrews at St Andrews Ladies Golf Club, that would later become the St Andrews Ladies Putting Club - a small but significant step in a sport that, at the time, offered women very little space within it.
More than 150 years later, women’s participation in golf has continued to grow across every level, from beginners discovering golf for the first time to elite amateurs, business leaders, entrepreneurs and seasoned players building communities around the sport. The conversation around golf has evolved too. It is no longer simply about scorecards and handicaps - it is about connection, confidence, travel, wellness and shared experiences. And, we can’t knock the evolution of golf fashion either!

And so, we created The 1867 Club with exactly this spirit in mind. This is not simply another golf trip, but a carefully curated experience for women who want to immerse themselves in the very best of St Andrews, surrounded by like-minded golfers who appreciate the tradition of the game while helping shape its future.

Guests will experience teeing off on four legendary championship courses - Dumbarnie, Kingsbarns, a paired course and the legendary Old Course - as well as a luxury stay in the 5* Old Course Hotel. What awaits them also is the unmistakable atmosphere that makes St Andrews unlike anywhere else in the world - raw emotion, passion and exhilaration.

As one of the long-standing Authorised Providers of Old Course tee times, we have spent over thirty years creating unforgettable moments at the Home of Golf for so many. Now, The 1867 Club feels particularly meaningful in expanding this privilege to so many more keen golfers and giving women to take centre stage in St Andrews, with us right behind them.

Furthermore, there is no better year to do this; recent milestones across golf continue to reflect this momentum for women in golf, with the appointment of the first female captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews for the 2026/27 season, Claire Dowling.

Exclusivity is part of what will make the 1867 Club such a special offering, but not in the traditional sense. Think smaller groups, meaningful connections, unforgettable rounds, shared dinners after long days on the links, and conversations that continue long after the final putt drops. It is about belonging in places that have inspired golfers for centuries.

This is your time to shine girls; be a part of the future of the game in the heart of St Andrews - there really is no better place in the world to celebrate this moment!
