Our feet have finally touched the ground after another unforgettable edition of our beloved Father and Son Tournament. This year, we welcomed 40 wonderful guests - with 18 returning players who have joined us in past tournaments, including our 2023 champions. (Spoiler alert: they may have left St Andrews with even more silverware this time!)
One of the things we pride ourselves on is offering our guests flexibility with their travel and booking arrangements. With some participants journeying from the other side of the world, arrivals were staggered between Friday and Saturday. Those who arrived early were treated to an exceptional warm-up round at Dumbarnie Golf Links - and the weather certainly played its part! Blue skies and buzzing excitement set the stage for what was to come.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a true links golf experience without a bit of classic Scottish weather. While we wish we could say sunshine ruled the week, Mother Nature made sure our competitors were thoroughly tested - just as it should be on a links!
Let’s dive into the standout highlights of the 2025 tournament:
The People
It might sound like a cliché, but our number one highlight is always the people. The Father and Son Tournament is more than just a golfing event - it’s a rare chance to bond with loved ones and connect with a fantastic group of likeminded players. The camaraderie is what makes the experience so memorable, competing during the day, then sharing a pint and swapping stories in the evening.
It’s community, connection, and competition all wrapped into one unforgettable week.
The Courses
Close behind are the world-class golf courses. Spring is a brilliant time to tee off in Scotland, with courses emerging from their winter rest in immaculate condition. That means greens are smooth, fairways are pristine, and those legendary bunkers are as challenging as ever.
Throughout the tournament, our guests had the chance to play at some of the most prestigious courses in the world - Dumbarnie, The New Course, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and of course, the sacred grounds of The Old Course. Very few golf breaks offer this level of quality within a single week.
The Memories
At the heart of the tournament are the memories made - on and off the course. That’s what The Experience Golf is all about. Many of our guests bring partners, children, and family members along, making the event inclusive and special for everyone, whether they’re playing or not. It’s these shared experiences that keep people coming back year after year.
A special congratulations to Team Gattorna, who walked away with the trophy for a second time - they played some fantastic golf and were worthy winners of our 2025 Tournament.
